Lady Bug Boats

While at Cape Marine he reconstructed several derelict boats as a side-line. In 1999 he was asked by a customer if he would build her a small dinghy for her cruiser. He agreed. The customer wanted the boat painted red with black dots: the first “lady bug” boat. The word spread through the boating community on the Cape and soon there were Lady Bug Boats all around the area. In 2002 another customer asked for an 18 foot skiff based on the Brockway LYS design. Ken built the boat and tested it with a 30 horsepower outboard. It was surprisingly fast, dry and stabile, and Ken knew that he had a winner. Currently Lady Bug Boats is Ken’s sole professional interest. He is joined by his wife, Julie, and a staff of experienced boat builders. Ken would be pleased to build your custom Lady Bug Boat, either the Plymouth 18 center console or the Manomet 18 open work skiff. Just send your email to info@ladybugboats.com.
