Long story short
Ken Martin began his boatbuilding career in 1982, following his father, Ken Sr., as a journeyman boatbuilder at Cape Dory Yachts in Taunton, Massachusetts. His career went on to include fiberglass repair, yacht carpentry, warranty work, marine service, and charter fishing.
In 1999, a customer asked Ken to build a small dinghy painted red with black dots. That boat became the first Lady Bug. In 2002, a request for an 18-foot skiff based on the Brockway design led to the practical, stable working boats built today.
Lady Bug Boats are made in Plymouth for people who value straightforward construction, utility, and honest value.
